I’m constantly reaching out; I have been rescheduled 4 times and nothing. One of my rooms does not get any air flow to it so the room is deathly hot. The warranty people came out and stated they cannot do anything because the AC is working however there is still NO air flowing in that room.
Unfortunately, I was trapped into buying said home that I purchased under differing market conditions from initiation to when we closed. This profile has not been claimed by the company. This house that my family were so excited for has turned into a nightmare and I cannot imagine what would have happened if we had sold our current home, or if we had been in an apartment and ended a lease. I am very fortunate to still have a place to live in and am worried about what is yet to come of this home and I wake up and just don’t know why this company cannot just make it easy on their customers. We also ensure all reviews are published without moderation. It is very hard to get them to complete task toward the end of construction, or after. We are still working on fixing all the issues, paint, stucco, tile, carpet flaws… after moving in a month ago.

Just come off with the refrigerator already. You will lose deals using in house lender as they do not communicate. Just pick up the phone and connect with the buyer already. You will lose deals because you must send buyers to other communities to view models.
Winter just hit and my heater doesn’t even work. There is still work that needs to be finished but hasn’t been acknowledged I’m months now. Once I bought the home and paid, it’s been a nightmare. Although the projected completion time was longer than expected, the home is great and the sales/contracting teams were very professional. Although, I feel that construction workers really should not leave their food and beverage garbage in someone's home.

This rating has been stable over the past 12 months. Management is inconsistent and plays favorites. Rules apply to most, but not to all employees. Favorites are placed in best positions and kept there despite poor performance, including tardiness, lack of reporting as everyone else is subjected to. Work hours are long and responsibilities from all departments role down hill to sales staff. Marketing, production, construction, etc, sales is held responsible and often blamed.

Companies can ask for reviews via automatic invitations. Labeled Verified, they’re about genuine experiences. Would NEVER consider a Richmond American Home again! So many issues that they do not seem to want to address/repair.
Excuse after excuse, about how they can't keep crews, the block next to us is Richmond as well. They do not seem to have a problem keeping people. My realtor has been doing this for over 20 years including recent builds and has never seen such poor building ever.
The same floor plan or model can look very different with brick, siding or stone exteriors, but the entire outline can change from one elevation to the next while the underlying floor plan is the same. This is the worst builder I have ever dealt with. I closed on my home with a promise unfinished items would be completed with 30 days after closing. It is now almost 2 months later, and nothing has been completed.
We have purchased a new build home from Richmond American. Richmond has failed to keep up with their warranty agreement by servicing the house after our "30 day" walkthrough. Richmond has recycled employees and each time they lose someone or move someone, our repairs get lost in the mix. I have escalated to the superintendent of the house build, asking for their corporate office number or bosses' phone number and the superintendent told me he didn't have time to answer my request.
Do not automatically accept the lowest bid - an abnormally low bid may indicate the contractor made a mistake and is not including the same work quoted by their competitors. We've made the bid collection process extremely simple . When it comes to major construction work or even minor alterations to your home, hiring the wrong contractor could result in incomplete or defective work.
Kate with Richmond was excellent during the entire process. She was available at any time and got back to us with the info we needed in a timely manner. After Close don't expect a whole lot of help or contact from the builder. There are a large number of issues that we pointed out prior to closing. They fixed some of them but once we closed, it is difficult to get any help to finish up with the issues.
